3. Third-Party Services
To understand user interaction and keep this service free, we may utilize third-party tools such as:
- Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics: Used to track aggregate usage metrics (such as page views, device type, and bounce rate). This metrics collection does not capture any sensitive data like your mantras, notes, or specific counts.
- Google AdSense: If advertisements are served, AdSense may use cookies to deliver relevant ads based on your previous visits to this or other websites.
4. User Data Rights & Portability
Because your data is saved locally on your browser, you have absolute control over it:
- Deleting Data: Clearing your browser cookies and website data for chantcounter.com will delete all local storage records permanently. You can also click "Reset All" inside settings to clear all local databases.
- Backing Up Data: We provide an "Export JSON" feature in the Settings dashboard. This downloads a file of your progress to your device, which you can load back via "Import JSON" to restore counts on other browsers.
5. Security
Since your records do not exist on our servers, they cannot be compromised in server breaches. However, anyone who has physical or remote access to your device's web browser may be able to view your counts. We recommend keeping your personal device secured.
